Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about alerts, pricing, safety, and what can be shared on Useble.
How does Useble work?
Useble helps people share useful items locally. Owners add alerts for items they own, and Useble notifies them when someone nearby needs something similar. During the seeding phase, creating renter requests is not yet available.
Is Useble free?
Yes. Useble currently takes 0% fee, so owners keep 100% of what they earn. We want early owners to add alerts, build local supply, and grow with the community.
How do alerts for my items work?
Add the item name, city, and notification preferences. When a matching local request becomes available, Useble can notify you so you can decide whether to respond.
Is there a limit for item alerts?
There is currently no alert limit. In the future, unlimited alerts may be reserved for Pro accounts, so joining the Early Users Program is the best way to secure Lifetime Pro progress early.
How does Useble support safer rentals?
Pickup and drop-off happen in person, either at the owner's place or the renter's place depending on the request. Payment is always handled on the owner's terms during pickup. Owners can set rental rules, such as checking ID, requiring a signature, using an agreement, or adding any other important condition for their item.
Can I rent any item?
You can think of Useble as Airbnb for movable items. Tools, garden gear, camping equipment, baby gear, electronics, vehicle accessories, and many other useful items can work well. Illegal, harmful, unsafe, or prohibited items are not allowed and may be removed or banned.
