Why Points, and why now

A local rental network doesn't begin with a transaction. It begins when someone lists the first drill, verifies their profile, completes a reliable handover, or invites a neighbor who joins in.

Those early contributions create real value, even before a marketplace reaches full momentum. With Useble Points, we can finally recognize them.

Points are now live across Useble. They are awarded automatically for actions that strengthen the rental network in your city: adding useful supply, completing rentals, building trust, and bringing in active participants.

Designed for real contributions

We built the economy around the needs of a growing marketplace.

During the seeding phase, useful supply comes first. Liquidity follows, while trusted referrals help the network grow throughout. The rewards reflect those priorities.

ContributionPoints
Verify your email+25
Complete your profile+50
Add your first item+60 bonus
Add an item+40, for the first 10 items
Complete a rental as the owner+150
Complete a rental as the renter+75
Receive a positive review+20

Invited friend adds their first item+100
Invited friend completes their first rental+200

Your first listed item earns around 100 points: 40 for the listing and a 60-point first-item bonus. That makes getting started meaningful, while limiting listing rewards to the first ten items keeps the focus on real, rentable supply.

Completed rentals carry the largest direct rewards because they are the clearest sign that the network is working. Owners receive 150 points and renters receive 75, recognizing both sides while giving additional weight to the people making items available.

Referrals work in stages, too. Inviting someone is only the beginning; the reward increases as that person becomes a genuine contributor.

Five levels of local impact

Points determine your current Useble level:

LevelStarts at
Sprout0 points
Contributor100 points
Neighbor400 points
Local Hero1,000 points
City Founder2,500 points

Levels reflect how much you have contributed to the local network. Higher levels will be the first to receive future perks and early access as the program develops.

Existing contributions already count

The system does not start everyone from zero.

When you open the Points page, Useble calculates your balance from your real account history. Items you have already added, rentals you have completed, reviews you have received, and qualifying referrals are counted automatically.

During testing, one existing account reconciled immediately to 735 points. No manual claim and no rebuilding activity from scratch.

Reliable by design

Behind the interface is an append-only points ledger. Every award has a unique deduplication key, so the same contribution cannot be rewarded twice.

A single reconciliation process rebuilds a member's points from verified account activity. This makes the system idempotent: it can run repeatedly and still produce the same correct result. A database trigger keeps the displayed balance synchronized with the ledger.

Points updates are connected throughout the product, including email verification, item creation, confirmed returns, reviews, and referral milestones.

The new Points page is also powered entirely by live data. It shows your balance, current level, progress, earning rules, contribution statistics, and a paginated activity history. The experience is available in all four supported Useble languages.

For the final live check, we followed the complete journey: create a fresh account, verify it, sign in, and open Points. The result was exactly what we expected: 25 points, Sprout level, and a real ledger entry.

Start building your city

Useble Points are recognition for the work that makes local renting possible. Add something useful, complete a great rental, help another member feel confident, or invite a friend who will take part.

Every genuine contribution moves the network forward.

Points are non-transferable, have no cash value, and cannot be used for payments. Rules and amounts may evolve as we learn during the seeding phase.
